The official title of the series was simply Superman, and starred the fictional character of the same name. Warner Bros. applied the same “more modern, more serious” animated treatment to DC Comics’ flagship character in the same way they had successfully produced Batman: The Animated Series.

Description: Batman: The Animated Series is an American animated television series adaptation of the comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero, Batman. It is widely regarded by fans as the most iconic modern representation of the Batman character and mythology, and also as the most faithful animated series based on a comic book. The dynamic visual style of the series is based on the artwork of producer Bruce Timm. Lacking an on-screen title in the opening credits, the show was originally known only as Batman (and would be referred to as such in episode recaps that summarised what had happened “previously on Batman…”), but was retroactively officially titled Batman: The Animated Series, as clarified by Warner Bros.

Description: Fantastic Four is an animated series based on Marvel’s comic book series Fantastic Four. In the mid-1990s, Marvel Productions syndicated a new Fantastic Four animated series as part of The Marvel Action Hour. The first half of the hour was an episode of Iron Man; the second half an episode of Fantastic Four (many episodes of which were direct recreations of episodes from the original 1960s series). During the first season, Stan Lee was featured speaking before each show about characters in the following episode and what had inspired him to create them. Both the Fantastic Four and Iron Man series were radically retooled for the second seasons, sporting new opening sequences, improved animation, and more mature writing, though noticeably having fewer introductions by Stan Lee, with several of the new shorter intros being used more than once. The Marvel Action Hour lasted two seasons before being cancelled.
